Returns Policy

Returns

Items in their original condition may be returned for a refund. We do not offer direct exchanges; instead we ask that you return the item and place a new order at your convenience.

Returned items must be unworn, unused, unwashed, and undamaged, with original packaging and tags attached. If items do not meet these conditions we reserve the right to reject the return, and return shipping costs will be the customer’s responsibility. Please note we do not accept returns on homewares, so please check the product information carefully.

Items purchased in-store at Shop MAN-TLE can be returned for an exchange or store credit only. Store credit has no expiry and can be redeemed in-store or via our eshop.

To request a return, please contact care@man-tle.com within 7 days of receiving your order. Once approved, we’ll provide a Return Approval Code. Items must be returned in their original condition, with signature on delivery and tracking details supplied to us. We do not take responsibility for returns lost or damaged in transit, so we strongly recommend repacking items carefully and using a trusted postal service with tracking. Once received, a production team member will review the returned items and approve a refund for their value.

Garment Wear and Faults

We work closely with expert mills and factories in Japan, ensuring quality is carefully checked at every stage of production. Many of these factories are family-run, and operate using traditional methods of garment production passed down through generations. The value of MAN–TLE garments lies in their production process, and the foundation of our brand began with retaining traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

The making of a MAN–TLE garment lies in the hands and eyes of real people, using machinery that has operated for generations. For more information we recommend reading our Stories, located under the MAN–TLE tab at the top of our website.

Due to the nature of production small irregularities may appear. A slight bump, known as ‘orikizu’, may indicate where one yarn ends and another begins; a faint line, ‘tobikomi’, where dust has briefly caught in the loom. We embrace these quiet signifiers of process, rather than deem them as faults.

Please note that signs of wear are to be expected, and minor repairs may be required at the customer’s responsibility. Fabric tears, holes, scratches, or loose buttons can be avoided given correct care, and we provide more information on caring for MAN–TLE garments here.

Please understand that we do not accept returns, or offer repair, for garments damaged by incorrect care or general wear and tear. We carefully check all items prior to shipping your order, however in the unlikely event of a manufacturing fault please report this to care@man-tle.com.
