Original low-profile sandals developed in collaboration with Kyoto-based shoemaker Shinji Sekizuka of Hakimono Sekizuka and Iwakura AA.
Developed from conversations with Shinji during a visit to the Western Australian coast in 2023, the sandal reconsiders the proportions of a traditional Japanese zōri for Australian conditions and lifestyle. The sole has been broadened and squared to provide greater stability underfoot, with enough leather to gradually take the shape of the wearer. Wide enough to sit on top of soft sand rather than sink into it -yet retaining the traditional construction methods Shinji practises in his own work- this is an original design that has since informed products for his own line.

+Canadian Bend leather, vegetable tanned in Hyōgo, Japan through 2-3 months in large open pits. This leather is finished with a lacquer spray and will soften, crease, and mould to the wearer over time. Soft leather-bound roped hanao straps, smooth leather footbed, and durable rubber outsole.

Unlike traditional zōri which fit short under the heel, these sandals are designed to fit true to size, with the sole slightly extending beyond the heel. This broader, longer profile provides greater stability underfoot and is intended to feel secure and comfortable from the first wear.
