+Deep-cut six panel brim hat. Slot button threaded onto seatbelt tape, used to adjust size. Cinch to distort shape. Dyeing commissioned to iconic mud works Kanai Kougei, based in Amami-Ōshima. Master craftsman Yukihito Kanai works to preserve ancient Dorozome techniques of the island using materials within reach. Made in Japan.

+100% cotton layers / 100% polyester fill, 3mm stitched wales. Soft-type Nubi cloth, over-dyed by hand using ancient Dorozome (mud-dyeing) techniques of Amami-Ōshima. Hat is dyed in a tannin-rich dye bath made from the bark of locally found Sharinbai trees, then repeatedly immersed in the island's iron-rich mud, dorotetsu. Depth of colour is achieved through chemical reaction and layered immersion, and will evolve with washing and wear. Woven for MAN-TLE in Daegu, South Korea, and hand-dyed in Amami-Ōshima, Japan.

+Spot clean or hand wash in cool water with a small amount of natural detergent. Gently rub soiled areas on the interior with a damp cloth. Form to shape and dry in shade.
