• Softedge was established by Layla Cluer in 2019 near Byron Bay, Australia. Having originally manufactured the tableware locally, in 2023 she headed to the heartland of Japanese porcelain, Kyushu, in search of a path forward. The second chapter of Softedge evolved through a collaboration with the many skilled craftspeople of Hasami, a town nestled into the volcanic mountains of Japan’s southern island.
